Infrared thermography is a tool used to assess both the current condition and potential future is- sues or fire hazards to monitor the current operational condition, prevent potential fires, and/ or mechanical breakdown. The application is non-destructive and non-disruptive to process industries. and is an established tool in asset risk management programs.

Applications utilizing infrared thermography include the inspection of electrical installations such as MCC and DB panels , Earth Leakage Installations, determining the location of water leaks, the level of gas and other stored liquids within bulk installations, the inspection of furnaces and kilns , machine condition monitoring, construction applications ( such as residual moisture, energy loss within structures), fridge and cold room seal inspections, mechanical inspections (such as motors, bearings, conveyor belts, idle rollers, crushers, mills), the inspection of overhead lines from a stationary as well as mobile positioning.

Upon completion of the inspection the client is furnished with a technical report which contains the thermograms as well as other technical data obtained during the assessment. This information is then used to align appropriate remedial action.

Infrared thermography program intervals are industry dependent but are recommended annually as a minimum.
